Global Centre Devon

Outline

The Global Centre had an old site on Joomla and wanted something easier to manage themselves in WordPress.

There were 4 distinct sections with their own style, hundreds of posts and several important elements such as an events facility. Everything needed to be translated, moved, re-organised and made easier to use for staff and visitors.

We worked together to create their new site which is now much easier to administrate. Global Centre staff were able to explain exactly what they needed and I made it clear and simple to use.

Thankyou very much for all your work with us on the website. We are very pleased with the outcome - and I think Wendy would say equally that you have been a pleasure to work with.

Harptree History Society

Outline

Harptree have hundreds of historical documents and wanted to be able to share them online.

The Harptree society is made of historians with limited technical knowledge, so it had to be easy to use. I built a special area for adding historic documents and added a media organiser to help with managing the many images and audios in their collection.

I also took on hosting of the site and migrating the emails, again managing the move and offering simple guides on use.

Very many thanks, and also in dealing with this so quickly. We can now relax!

TJNB's website was in a bit of a sorry state when I met one of their board. Initially they had hoped for a site which showcased the amazing bands they brought to their home town, helped them manage memberships and enabled bands to contact them. At the time their site had a badly styled feed from a ticket booking platform to show gigs, the news pages were just images with text on and it was hard to find your way around.

We talked about all this and agreed I should look to improve things. I started the site from scratch, gave it a modern look, made it easy to add information to gigs, added a simple membership subscription to automate payments and built a feed that 'talked to' their ticket platform to automate getting gigs on to the site. Now they have a fully working site and their only complaint is that too many bands are contacting them! A nice problem to have.

We'll be working on enabling them to easily email members and linking to social to try and expand their reach. All this and their monthly costs for the website are one-third what they used to be!

Mike has been a big help for us, as we're all really interested in the music and none of us are technical.

When we take stuff to Smithy he often sees something we missed or has a new angle on how to make it work - for much more than the websites. He's our go-to for online stuff with any new project.

Mike was great - I just had to give him the basics of what we wanted and he did the rest.

Social

I help others with social and so neglect my own. Don't worry if there's nothing to see - business very much continues.

Congratulations

You pressed the mysterious button.
I don't like pushy websites. A good product should sell itself and only needs good content well presented.
But it looks like I can still make people click through... so if that's what you need, let me know.
Meanwhile, your prize for braving the mystery button... is to learn the secret of my power!
